SAP Sourcing and Procurement (MM) Bootcamp

Module 1: Introduction to Sourcing & Procurement / Procure-to-Pay

This module gives you a complete overview of SAP Sourcing & Procurement and its role within the broader S/4HANA system. You’ll understand the full P2P cycle and how MM integrates with other modules. You also learn the key organizational elements and components that form the foundation of procurement.

You will learn:

  • The role of Sourcing & Procurement in S/4HANA

  • The Procure-to-Pay process from request to invoice

  • Organizational structure: plant, storage location, purchasing org & group

  • Components of S/4HANA Sourcing & Procurement

  • Operational vs. strategic procurement

You understand the full P2P process and how procurement tasks are executed in SAP.

Module 2: Purchase Requisitions & Purchase Orders

This module focuses on the key purchasing documents used to manage external procurement. You’ll learn how requirements are created, how sources of supply are selected, and how purchase orders are processed end-to-end.

You will learn:

  • How purchase requisitions are created and processed

  • Source of supply determination (info records, source lists, contracts)

  • How to create and analyze purchase orders

  • Purchase order types and item categories

  • Basics of output management (print/send PO)

You can create and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders confidently and understand their role in procurement.

Module 3: Goods Receipt & Inventory Management Basics

This module focuses on what happens physically with the materials. You’ll learn how goods receipts are posted, how stock is updated, and how SAP represents different stock types and movements.

You will learn:

  • How goods receipts (GR) are posted for purchase orders

  • The basics of stock types (unrestricted, quality, blocked, etc.)

  • Common movement types and what they represent

  • How inventory levels are updated and displayed in the system

  • An introduction to special processes like subcontracting from an MM perspective

You understand how goods movements affect stock and can follow the material flow in SAP from purchasing to storage.

Module 4: Stock Transfers, Special Stocks & Physical Inventory

In this module, you explore more advanced inventory processes. You’ll see how materials move within and between plants, how special stocks like consignment are handled, and how physical inventory is performed.

You will learn:

  • How stock transfers and transfer postings work (within and between plants)

  • How reservations support planning and warehouse operations

  • How consignment stock is managed in SAP MM

  • The basics of physical inventory processes and stock counting

  • How stock determination and availability influence material flow

  • Key planning-related fields in the material master (MRP views)

  • Basics of lot-sizing, reorder points and availability checks
